Some time ago this was only an idea...or a dream... to form a real band, which writes it's own songs! At that time, only the Drummer Tilen Volcansek and Guitarist Adam Bozilovic were talking about this idea, but they didn't take all that seriously, because it sounded almost impossible. Later, Gregor Vegelj heard about the idea, and he immediately decided to join, but he only had intention to act as a singer, because back then he didn't play a Bass Guitar. So the band started off as a trio. At that time, under the name Hybrid Theory, the band thought about playing a little more soft music, something similar to KoRn (hey, don't judge us, we weren't that much of a metalheads back then). It soon became clear, that they will need a bass player, and they thought about Gasper Bohorc. But he already had his own band, so they friendly agreed, that he doesn't have to be a part of Hybrid Theory. So the role of bass player was given to Vegelj, who learned how to play bass (hell yes, he's great!) and he became a singer and a bass player at once. The trio renamed itself into KindRed (Vegl's idea) and had band practise at Tilen's home. They realised, that this was going to be hard, cuz the neighbours were being 'f***ers too often'. Fortunately, the band heard about band practise room in MC Brezice (MC - stands for Mladinski Center, meaning youth centre), where they could practise, because the practise room had all the needed equipment too, which themselfs didn't have (let us not count the 15 watt amps and stuff). So they had their first practise in the beginning of october '06. After a short time, they already played a song from Amon Amarth and at that time they got an idea, that they could play viking death metal. After some practise, they found out, that they would need a second guitar, so they started searching for the second guitarist, suitable for the band, and at the end of november, they got lucky. They met Borut Hollan, who gladly accepted the invitation in the band, which now wasn't a trio anymore. Because of the type of music they were playing, they started searching for a new name and soon they renamed to Asgard (which was supposed to mean 'realm of viking gods'). They were playing good, but there was still not enough energy in the sound, so they all agreed that they will accept yet a new guitarist - Tadej Secen, who finally completed the band. On Monday, 21st May, we had to throw out Adam beacause he could neve ever learn a single song right.. But I don't want to go into the details.. Now, Asgard is formed in the following combination: Gregor Vegelj, Tilen Volcansek, Borut Hollan and Tadej Secen. They play their own songs (a lot of them!:) ) and they already have a plan for their first demo, named The Army Of The Sea |
